30 Something Sexiness….

Woke up to the most beautiful message from one of my old LA guy friends ‘Raffi,’ who I adore more than anything, because he’s always filled with Wunna Love. He produces music and when I was a mid 20 something year old girl, in West Hollywood, we recorded a couple tracks together, that his brother had whammed up.

His brother was working with the likes of Britney Spears, N’sync, R.Kelly, Michael Jackson…His grandfather, worked with Elvis. So, let’s just say producing beats runs through his soul. He’s a ‘brother,’ and he’s swag.

But all that to one side…We had the most amazing friendship. We’d hang out all the time. He’d come around to my condo, after being at the studio and we’d just sit in his car, chill and chatter, under the LA night stars. It was great!

When he was a young 20 something he looked at me and said,

‘I’d be so happy, if I woke up to you every morning…But at fifty, you’d probably piss me off. Haha.’

Then he drank a Red bull, it gave him wings and he drove over my wheely bins, en route to drop by ‘Neyo’s. (Yeah…the ‘So sick of love songs’ Neyo.)

Raffi’s always been such a good friend to me. In fact ALL of my LA friends are to this day, SO SO close to me. We tell each other how much we love one another, literally all day long and that’s because growing up…we went through SO, SO MUCH together, in one of the toughest towns emotionally, to try and make it in showbusiness.

This morning, I woke up to an insta DM from ‘Raffi’ after i posted the above picture…All he said was…

‘You are so beautiful.’

So 13 years on, and now on entirely different sides of the world, he is still so utterly lovely and goes out of his way to try and make a glamour puss smile. 🙂

(Thank you for that! I love you so dearly. May the night stars guide you bro.)

Right. Okay…

I’m still filled with anxiety and panic and I have no clue why, really? I’m getting on with it though. I’m good at that. I’m doing it with a ‘100 watt’ smile and hoping it’s just hormones.

What am I terrified of?

This morning I posted the above pic, because I always thought that growing up a model and one that sold ‘sexiness‘….I always thought that I wouldn’t feel ‘sexy’ when I grew older.

The opposite has happened and at 37, I probably, right now, feel at my SEXIEST. It’s so crazy? I don’t know whether it’s because I’m more comfy in my own skin, or i’m just laid back with my natural ‘Va Voom.’ I’ve got nothing to prove now. I’m cool.

But again, my LA guy friends the other day, were saying that they hung out with me, as a young 20 something year old and back then they thought i was ‘Ooh laa…Ferocia.’

Yet now, almost 20 years on..(they fly in to visit me on occasion,) they’ll just look at me and say,

‘We still cannot believe how beautiful you are. It’s like you’re getting hotter and hotter.’

AWWW!!!

How nice is that!!!! Everyone needs to hear it. It’s positive and positive vibes are contagious. I’m so lucky to have such wonderful friends…Real friends. Real ‘life soldiers.’ Hopefully, that will put me in good stead for the future. Hopefully, you’ll take a moment today, at some point, just to tell someone that they’re beautiful.

It makes their day….

Everyone should embrace and adore their beauty. Both inner and out.

But y’know, there’s just something about being older, that FEELS SEXIER, than being young. I find, that, when you’re older your ‘SEXY’ comes from your soul, your life experience. It’s in your eyes. It’s your beauty. Your story.

Everyone has a story, even when you’re young. You just ‘own it‘ better when you’re grown.  When you’re really young, your ‘sexy,’ is still only pinned, glued and stuck on. It’s not real yet. Even in your 20’s, when you think you’re grown.

That’s what i’ve learnt through my 30’s. I’ve also realised that you mellow out, and grown emotionally. You become a wiser human and that alone is SEXY.

(A young friend of mine sent me a message yesterday, and it put me off them, because… well he used a very young, 20 something year old term, to describe a group of people…in a derogatory fashion. He referred to them as ‘beggy’ and I don’t like that because I think it’s rude. I think it’s judgmental and something that a 30 something would never ever say..Lol. And I guess that’s that’s the difference, between being young and old.)

I’ve learnt so much about people and myself in this last 2 weeks.

Anyway!!

All sorts has been happening to my friends. I have some finding their ‘bouji,’ and others clinking prosecco glasses. ‘Hustle Barbie’ (who’s Vegan) actually stole a PIG. A REAL PIG from a Butcher, because she didn’t want it to get slaughtered. Shenamed it ‘Elvis’ and it’s now in her house. Lol.

Everyone apparently loves the pig. Yet, I am not a piggy fan. I find their snouts intrusive. Lol. Yet, I admire her love and conquest. She’s filled with utter compassion.

Plus, I adore that she’s going to go out, get drunk, bring back a hot dude, forget she has a pig named ‘Elvis’ and suddenly remember he’s there, when he pops onto her sofa, mid ‘sexy time.’

If a pig came near me during sex, I would DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’d grab my boobies and RUN FOR THE HILLS…NAKED.

I am terrified of animals of the farmyard variety.

TERROR SCREECHES THROUGH MY SOUL.

But on the up, there’s also been new love. My gay friend Liam, (he’s just tinkered off ‘The Extreme Diet Hotel’ show on Channel 4.) Anyway, he recently broke up with his beau and has hit the dating scene with his heart on his sleeve and it’s good to see him happy. He called me before his last date, with a beautiful looking man. They met at ‘Velvet’ in Manchester, for the date and he saw him sat outside drinking a latte.

Me: ‘A latte!!!! On a date!!!!’

Liam: ‘I didn’t want it to be a slaggy date. We’ve  spoken loads & really like him. It’s a non drinking date.’

(I don’t do ‘non drinking’ dates. 🙂 I get so nervous. I need to drink.)

He called me before his date because he was a little nervous. But dates are kinda like that, aren’t they?

Liam: ‘I’ve dressed really casual. is that okay??’

I’m glad, that I was his ‘make me not nervous‘ call. I’m good in those moments.

But they had the most beautiful time. I actually saw a picture of his date, whilst on the train to MY OWN date in Manchester. He was ‘sizzle.’ Really handsome. Really well groomed.  They loved their time together. It was all chatter and leg strokes. Cuddles over calamari. It was a classy afternoon date. But then they had to rush off home, because ‘twinges’ and testosterone kept kicking in…If the date went on any longer….the pleasantries would’ve been X Rated.

I always think that chicks sometimes get offended when a guy wants to ‘sex you up’ on the first date. Yet, you shouldn’t. (I know, it makes you think that they only want sex.) Yet DO KNOW, that they can’t help it. If they fancy you, the WANT, WANT, WANT you. It’s how they’re wired and they don’t mean it offensively. Their willy pops up and that’s it. They go ‘boz eyed’ and need to ‘jab for goals.’

So you can IMAGINE, what it must be like if you’re two GUYS on a date…and you fancy one another!

Hahaha….

‘I’ll have that latte to GO, Bitch.’

A Bit of Weaves & Waves (Part 1)

Image may contain: 1 person, sitting

So. Wednesday was manic. I was rushing around. I had the kids, a shoot…all sorts. It was mad, but it was sunny… and well everything’s better in the sun. It brings out the booty shorts….and fortunately and like a domino effect…everything’s better in booty shorts.

Have you noticed that when’s the sun’s out…Dudes get all ‘heated.’ I don’t know what happens to them, but their willies perk up and go on a mad ‘chick chase.’

All the chicks, all the chase…all the willies…

I swear, it’s because a bit of sunshine gets them overly excited. Or maybe because we’re all in heels and wearing booty shorts? Can’t decide? I’ll let you figure it out.

COLD SHOWERS FOR EVERYONE! Yipppeee!

Anyway, Pitstop rentals picked up…as I had to dash to get my face done in the nick of time… (I’m really grateful to Pitstop, as he shimmies over a brilliant chauffeuring service and I really appreciated the makeup stop off..but I’ll get to that on my next blog, as I have a lot to say…and not much time to say it in, as I have a wine lunch with ‘Firmonnell’ at noon. And who’s to play with wine and sunshine!)

I arrived at the launch of the new Weaves & Waves hair salon, on Great George Street, Leeds…You should go. It’s amazing. I was really impressed….

I probably got there around 7.30pm? I can’t remember? I needed a cocktail and I weirdly felt anxious? Yet, I love a hair salon opening…So it couldn’t have been better timing.

Cocktails trumps anxiety.

I should be a therapist.

I just remember pulling up to the salon…

…and the pavement was filled with reality tv personalities, (so these were people who had JUST come off shows, are currently on shows, or about to appear on a show…and it’s really important for them to show up everywhere, as let’s be honest…it’s promo. So, if you have a current show…you go to ‘see’ and ‘be seen,’ at exactly the right time. 😉 )

There was what seemed like the entire cast of  this seasons ‘Ex On The Beach,’ Marlie from Ibiza Weekender, Emma Woodhams, who spent a summer on that Island of ‘Love,’ chicks from ‘Survival of The Fittest…’ All very fun, all very young…all at the very start of their new careers in entertainment. It made me feel like a veteran. Lol. And weaved between these little lovelies, where the delicious girls of Weaves & Waves and they themselves were the height of glamour.

Everyone seemed really excited. The sun was shining. There were  dresses, fire eaters, media boards, paps, giggles, life, tans, winks and  well lots of people with really great hair. It was a proper ‘chick fest.’ There was literally…How do I say ‘lots of vagina’ politely? Bottom line…It was everywhere…and the ‘vagina fest’ was armed with cocktails.

Me: ‘What am I drinking, it’s good?’

Sophia: ‘I don’t know? I just asked him for three big ones. 😉 ‘

So if you were a guy in Leeds, on Wednesday night and weren’t at  the Weaves & Waves salon…you lost out. BIG TIME.

BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG TIME!

Aaron the Pap, who is my favourite piece of adoration, I’ve just been in Spain with him, and spotted me arrive up, so as soon as I got out…I did my shots with him…He told me off for being a ‘Words Thief‘ and then had to dash, to another job.

I got a drink…a strong one….because I needed to! Then just like ‘magic’ with a hair toss and a pout…I got to ‘knowing everyone,’ a dandy bit better…after a wee, a quick blush down, posing for pictures and a moment of room scanning. (I’m highly social…and really good at the ‘getting to know you,’ without you even knowing. But that’s my job..and nothing is hotter!)

I smoozed, I smized…I picture took…I chattered. I filled my body with mystery cocktails.

Hair Stylist: ‘You’re beautiful. You’re so lovely. So what show were you on then?’

Me: ‘What you drinking?’

Hair Stylist: ‘We’ve got a massive stash of vodka and pink lemonade in the back if you want one…’

Me: ‘I’m there. Let’s go to the back room…I want a pink drink. Mines not pink and it’s upsetting me..’

I knew loads of people there, but I like arriving on my own…because it opens me up to adventure. I’m not scared to be Miss.Sassy pants or Lil’ Miss independant…If you show up with another human…and they don’t get you’re job….You close yourself off to adventure. And I need adventure…and what better place to find it, in Leeds, around glamour, madness, dancing girls, reality stars and the best wigs in the city.

They did a really great job… The staff, the owner….the girls, couldn’t of been more wonderful…and I always tells ya, I’m a ‘service’ and ‘personality’ kinda gal. They were just so easy to get on with…and absolute total glamour pusses…which I ADORE. I can’t wait to stop by for my hair doing!

Weaves & Waves: ‘Thank you so much for coming. You live here don’t you? Like this is your home town. We’re really excited and we really want the salon to work in Leeds, because it’s a place you can come for literally everything. Do you think it looks good?’

Me: ‘Yeah. It’s amazing! It’ll work. There’s such a good vibe about the place. It’s beautiful. It’s in the exact right place…and everything in this city is JUST word of mouth.’

I mean, if you’re gonna open a salon, you might as well have done it the way they did it, with Great Gatsby dancing girls, red carpets, fire eaters in undies, really great music and reality peeps winking at strangers. I loved it. I think they did an amazing job. It was truly very Leeds of them…and Leeds is all about ‘boujiness‘ now. Great spot. Good times.

They even had their own cocktail shaking dude, who was shimming up ‘corner cocktails’ and flipping things in the air…whilst making your drinks on request… for nothing but a wink and a smile….The best kind of currency/ 😉 How divine. Free drinks. We’re all in!

Then ‘the cocktail dude’, who was actually lovely, THEN decided to inform me that the word for a cigarette in Newcastle was a ‘Snout?’

Is that true? I don’t think it’s true? I know, loads of Geordies? No one’s ever gone for a ‘snout.’

It just reminds me of piglets and I have an inner terror of piggy snouts, because I always think pigs are gonna rock up to me, (obviously in the middle of a city, because I’m never on a farm 😉 ) and nuzzle places that they aren’t EVER meant to nuzzle…without getting a bit of ‘vajazzle’ on them.

Awful things are piggy snouts.

Right, I’m rambling…Let’s get this shit out…

So, the most beautiful girl, with the most wonderful ambery coloured hair…grabs my kitten hand and escorts to the pink lemonade/vodka shindig, that was happening in the back room. And it was ace, because I went from sunshine and street cocktails to sneaky little ‘hold my hand’ adventures…

We strutted past photographers, pouted in giant placed mirrors, we walked alongside a red ribbon…through a room full of half naked, Gatsby dancing girls (they were getting changed into their next outfit, there were suitcases lipstick and pink faux furs everywhere.)

We get to a door, she pushes it open…the room is pitch black…but filled with other girls… as soon as I walk in…some sat by the door hands me their phone and says..

‘GIRL. Yes. You. I’m trying to do my shoe up and I need you to hold my phone.’

‘Lol…Do you need light, it’s pretty dark.’

(She was hilarious. I loved her. AND really drunk. There was a nip slip.)

Me: ‘I need a cup.’

And just like magic…a cup arrived..(but the beautiful Amber haired kitten, DID have to go do the entire adventure journey back to get me a cup… with a straw… …)

In the dark….at around 8.30pm…I was poured a ‘back room’ vodka/pink lemonade…. Lol

It was gangsta!

Then I  sort of *blinked* and I was back at the party, back in the light, great music filled the room, and pinky tinges of light glowed around everyone…as camera flashes *snapped.*

I walked out of the door….Looked to my left… and who walked out of the loo…at that exact same time…?

The darling that is….

Sam Reece…

Mums Night, Wine & Get Me Stepping…

Image may contain: 1 person, close-up

How beautiful is the weather today!!! It’s gorgeous! The suns out, I’m feeling a glimpse of Springtime and well Life just feels dandier, doesn’t it, when we are treated to a jolly bit of ‘shine.’

In fact, i’m kinda glad it was sunny, because I bumped into Keiran (Juniors Dad) during the school run this morning. He was dropping Junior off and for some reason today (it’s his birthday today, but he’s a Jehovahs Witness now and therefore doesn’t celebrate it anymore.. I just didn’t mention birthday anything.)

But he just needed to talk to me today. Not even about anything….He just wanted to chat, talk life, the kids and weirdly reminisce in a carpark…as I waved at other mums.

Keiran: ‘Junior said that you’d been crying. Are you okay?’

Me: ‘When? I’m completely fine. He totally made that up. I haven’t cried at all. Anyway, i’ve got to go..’

Keiran: ‘No..wait….’

I don’t know? I think he must’ve just missed me today, or felt a bit lonely. However, even though i’m happy that we ‘co parent’ Junior, the best way we know how…To me…he’s my EX husband..and it’s done. Years and years ago, there were so many opportunities where he could’ve made it right…but he couldn’t be arsed to.

Luckily that was just how life was supposed to play out for me….

Years flew by, I loved being a single mum, I felt the happiest I had ever been…My career went from strength to strength..and NEVER in a million, trillion, gzillion, years… even if it was drenched in wine and came with kittens, cold hard cash, with a cherry on top, would I ever even consider getting back with Keiran.

It’s done. I like that we only ‘co parent’ now. But I’m polite…So I took in the sunshine and chatted for 30 minutes before zooming off…

I’m in a good mood today. Yesterday ended up being fabulous. I bumped into my friends Kate and Hairdresser Claire. It was kinda did that I did, because they had wine and I had managed to accidentally get myself wedged into a funeral party.

Don’t ask.

I just sorted of looked up all ‘dolly eyed‘ and found a funeral around by accident…

20 minutes later…Kate & Hairdresser Claire rock up and sweep me to one side, as they contemplated the ‘Hunters Chicken.’

Me: ‘I’m off to Spain soon and I have to look good in a flipping bikini.’

Kate: ‘You always post selfies in no clothes…You already look good.’

Me: ‘No. I mean I have to look really good.’

Claire: ‘Well you’re doing really well with that Peroni in front of you. Lol.’

Then we chatted about glamourously trashing hotels, how Claire should’ve been my ‘in Spain’ hairdresser, how all parties should have tattooists and how Kate still needs cigs even though she’s vaping. Lol

I learnt a bit more about Kate yesterday. I learnt that under her tough sassy banter…She is VERY MUCH a girl.. (I’m the same way. That’s why I could spot it.)

Then we talked about stalking people and ran off to do school runs…

I love being a girl.

Rushing, gathering children, sushi and madness occurred then. Yet, I still felt like the happiest human in the world? I just got on with it and loved it.

I was excited yesterday because that evening, a group of Mum’s (our children are all in the same class at school,) I think there were about 10 of us? (I’m shit at counting. It takes too long.) Anyway, we had all arranged to meet at Ego for 7.30pm for dinner and a couple drinks.

I LOVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE. I’m highly social. I find it fun. And like I said, we see each other daily, yet just in passing, with a child in tow or a dash to work sprint on…We’ve always made ‘pleasantries’ but we’ve never really created an opportunity to get to know one another.

Rupert’s Mum did last night…and with what felt like a single *Blink* ….Day had now turned to Night, it was around 7.11pm…and I found myself with ‘Miss Murphy’ squatted down, outside Ego rummaging through handbags like savages, to see if we could AT ALL, in ALL OF THE  ENTIRE LAND… find a lighter. Lol.

YOU CAN NEVER FIND ONE WHEN YOU ACTUALLY NEED ONE.

‘Can you find yours?’

‘No.’

‘Wait, I think I have one in the car…’

‘No…Hang on…i’ve found one…’

Plus, I ruined her phone conversation too…even though she very politely told me I didn’t.

It was already a fun night and it hadn’t even begun…

Unfortunately for me, I thought I was early, but by the time i walked in…everyone was already there, sat comfortably, with drinks….. waiting!

Me: ‘Oh! Sorry! I thought I was early. Lol’

Miss.Murphy: ‘Have you all been waiting a really long time?

‘Nooooo….’

Miss. Murphy: ‘So, you have then…Lol.’

We were all shown to our table and just like that, these ladies who I see every single day, yet never really find chance to speak to, all did dinner and that means a lot because we’re all busy women, some career women, some who dash around holding the family together. We’re all ages, all sorts, all types, from all different walks of lives.

Our children go to a nearby Private school (infact the school I went to as a child) and well, there’s only 10 children in their entire year…Meaning our kids are gonna grow up to be really close….So we might as well have white wine spritzers and get to know one another…As we have YEARS of our babies growing…

It was such fun, yet civilized, evening and great banter, chitter chatter, laid back life talk and a great night of just opening up and letting other ladies, at the table peek into YOUR life a bit more…because it’s always ‘steady’ at first, isn’t it?

Karen: ‘Do your kids do any out of school activites…’

Me: ‘No. Ruby asked if she could join Brownies and I just said *NO* lol.’

Miss.Murphy: ‘They eat out a lot…. That’s what they do. Lol.  I said No to Beavers.

There were talks about work, bald pigs, camper vans, wood worm, beavers, money, horses, great places to dine, ice skating, boat hotels, botox, boarding school and late teas…

(Unless you have a child in the school, you will not understand the JOY of the schools ‘Late tea’.)

Me: ‘By the time they’re get to the first year of Senior school, they’ll all be boarders, even though we all only live up the road. Lol.’

We’re all really lucky! And our babies are really lucky. We’re all really different. But a great set of mums!

I like a group of successful women. It makes me smile. So it was actually wonderful to sit, banter and sip white wine spritzers with them…

It was actually a breath of fresh air. Everyone was really honest. Everyone laughed. Some were loud. Some were quiet. Other’s wished for more wine and as I scanned the table, I was really happy that we all, for a moment, valued each other enough to take the time to do dinner. ( I mean, today I have a stack of work to get through. Another Mum has three different teas to arrange. Another Mum has a flight to catch for work this morning..)

Yet, we made it to dinner… (Probably because we knew there was wine.)

I can’t wait to do it again….

Great night!

I’ve got to dash because i’m doing my Sport Relief steps today throughout work, and i’ve been sat on my arse for the last 30 minutes…instead of stepping. (You need to Download the Sport Relief App today and start having each step you take count towards the nations ‘Billion Step ‘Challenge,’ to help change lives. Joe Wicks is doing it. Davina’s doing it. Man U are doing…Everyone’s doing it. I’ve only taken 712 steps today. Lol.

Godda Go! Godda Go! I’ve got to arrange my flights and bikinis for Spain. (Business…Not just pleasure.)

Lots of love,

Chrissie (I always look moody on my ‘no clothes’ pics.)
