Biology, Ice Rinks & Prada

I definitely sat in a room today, with each one of my girl besties and took part in what I would call a somewhat glamourous ‘biology class.’ ou would never have thought that I was the product of not ONE but TWO Doctors, as Biology, has certainly never been a forte of mine. However, now..I feel much better, because the rest of my chicks friends are even more SHOCKING, when it comes to the rules of science.

So in the group….Some of us have had babies. Some of us… have not. I noticed that the ones who haven’t quite yet produced ‘Mini Mes’, didn’t know how or where babies come from? Lol. Yes, they’re all grown twenty something adults. 🙂 Glamour Pusses, to be exact. All ambitious. All driven. All hard working.

It went a bit like this..

‘Well, they say that if you have a baby later on in life, you’re more likely to have a boy, because more girls are produced by accident.’

‘Wait! So girls are becoming extinct???’

‘No, You’re just more likely to have a boy.’

‘Yeah, but in school we learnt about the X/X chromosomes and the x/y chromosomes, which would mean…’

‘I didn’t learn that in school…’

‘Wait, so I can only get pregnant, two days of the month?’

‘It’s weird how people just fall pregnant after a one night stand…’

‘You’re period has to be regular…’

‘Well i had an ovulation app…and i lived by it…’

‘Where do babies actually come from… Like i don’t actually know??’

‘Yeah, but Double B isn’t on the pill and she…’

‘She never has sex…’

‘It’s SCIENCE! OBVS!’

Then we quit playing ‘biology,’ as we had better things to do with our time. (Surprisingly.)

Mel decided that she needed to see a Doctor and an Optician all in the space of three hours, incase she had a brain tumour.

Mel: ‘Fucking’ell. I don’t want an injection in my eye. I’m having to go to Pinders tomorrow! Is it normal for Opticians to touch you?’

Me: ‘What d’ya mean, touch you? Lol. They do get close to your face.’

Fairytale: ‘They have too!’

Mel: ‘He was fit anyway…It’s just a bit weird that…’

Then ‘Fairytale’ and ‘Hustle Barbie’ decided to indulge in Kurt Geiger boot drama.

Fairytale: ‘These aren’t as comfy as they were in the shop.. I just wanna go home me…’

Hustle: ‘Well yeah, because everyone else has tried them on in the shop. I just need good boot for Budapest on Saturday.’

And ‘Firmonnell,’ ….my very best chica ‘Firmonnell’…dyed her hair pink. 🙂

(Haaaaa H’HAAAAAAAAAAAAA! What an idiot!)

Nothing makes me more delighted, than the fact that she tried to dye her OWN HAIR BLOND and instead she managed to lift her pretty head up from the sink and find that it was PINK. (Well, I say pink. No. She says PINK. It’s not pink. It just glows pink from a blondish head of hair.)

‘IT’S PINK! It’s fucking PINK.’

‘It’s really not.’

‘I thought i’d just go to sleep, let the world take a turn and wake up in the morning to see if i’d like the colour. I laid in bed for about 3 minutes and like a lunatic was back in the mirror to see if it had magically changed colour. If Double B was here, she’d tell me the truth. She’d tell me that I looked like i sold…’

Moderately dramatic. Yet, I love it when she’s all drama and evil. That’s why we ALL get along. ‘Firmonnell’ and I are on a really good banter stream with each other right now. Our banter, cannot even be competed with.

Firmonell: ‘Ooh, it makes me feel so good! I can feel the evil running through…’

Me: ‘…my soul.’

Anyway, fifty little pounds later and a £90 cancelled booking, ‘Big D’ (her delightful husband, who was probably sick of her moaning) had found her a trip to a rather bouji hairdressers, to change her life ‘back to blond.’ I love ‘Big D’ for that. He scores HIGH in the ‘Husband stakes.’He’s doing EVERYTHING RIGHT, right now. Where’s my ‘Big D???’ Wait! Hahaha. That sounds so rude!

Yipppeee!!!

Then I got bored and started Googling Prada. Shoes to be exact. Not because I particularly need any. Just simply because it makes the world a safer place. We’re committing to all things that makes us happy, right? Like the mesmerizing glow of the Dior makeup stand in ALL department stores…scrolling through the Prada or Jimmy Choo website….just makes me happy.

Then our guy friend ‘Jonesez’ who definitely needs to find himself a girlfriend, decided to make loving assumptions, as he carefully strutted passed each one of us, with caution. (He’s like a thoughtful, annoying, little brother to us all. But we love him madly because he buys us sweets.)

To Fairyatle: ‘Can I have some of your lip balm? It’ll be like we’ve kissed then.’

(Reply: Why are you so weird?)

To Me: ‘Yeah. I’ll definitely go ice skating with you. It’ll be like we’re on a date.’

(Reply: It’s not a date dude.)

To Hustle: ‘I thought you said *give head* then.’

(Reply:  *BLANK*   )

He’s such a Love Bunny. He can’t even help it! He’s cute! 🙂 To be fair. He’s a nuisance. But he’s fun and probably one of the most thoughtful boys ever.  We love him really.

But away from all that. I’m really busy. I’m trying to book a stay at a Forest Cabin, for the week before Christmas. For Ruby, Junior, my Mum, Dad..you get the picture. The Wunna’s.

I’ll also have a birthday around that time. I’ll be blogging from the cabin, through that week. It’s one of my favourite places. I haven’t booked it just yet. But I’ve been chatting back and forth with Forest Holidays all day today, because the cabin that I wanted is so popular, that it’s already booked up.

Firmonnell: ‘You can’t just have people chucked out of a cabin for you. Lol.’

Me: ‘ No. I know.I’m not trying to… I just…STOP TRYING TO RAIN ON MY PARADE!! Lol.’

I’m also trying to find a place where I can ‘open air’ ice skate during the festive months? Have Millennium Square in Leeds stopped doing the open air ice skating thing or something? I wanna go with the kids. I wanna go with my friends. I need it in my life and it’s nowhere to be found?

I was under the fond misconception, that it always appeared, as soon as the whole German Market affair tinkered to light? I’m wrong! I’ve fantasized about ‘open air,’ Christmas ice skating, in Leeds. Now, my dreams are shattered. 🙂

How can I have a ‘open air’ ice skating birthday, if there isn’t anything to skate on?

‘No! I don’t want to go to an ice rink. It has to be OPEN AIR!!!!’

(Lol. I’m feeling quite high maintenance today. I’m flipping demanding cabins, Prada and ice skating rinks. It’s the girls, they’ve evoked my inner Diva.)

But yes, it’s a busy time of merriment for me, or any blogger really, right now. I’m headed into such a fun season. It’s my favourite season and it’s so much better than Summer, because there’s an emotional warmth to Christmas isn’t there?

It’s not just a bikini pout, a poolside sun lounger and a instagram pic of you and an inflatable flamingo. There’s a magic to this season. A real magic. And this magic meanders around, until every single one of us, smiles and enjoys a warm apple cider, tinsel dripped December.

It’s that ‘magic’ that makes us feel good and when we feel good…. we can conquer the world!

Ups & Downs & Those Jiggly Bits of Doo Daa

Things have weirdly turned out great! I’m feeling good. I had a rough weekend. It wasn’t rough as in ‘drinky,’ just rough as in tough. I was kinda ‘down beat,’ feeling low, like the wind had been taken out my sails a bit and I needed to pull my kitten socks up, wake up the next morning and feel wonderful. The great thing about those moments, where you’re swirled in a case of ‘da blues’ is the simple fact that they’re only temporary. I’m a positive chick. I’m good with life, because i’ve fought so hard to make it my bestie. We’ve shared some times! We’ve done it over rummy cocktails. I’m confident enough to say that  The Gods have now cut me some slack and i’m really lucky…always really lucky. But jeeze, have I noticed that when you’re down….all kinds of shit happens to you, in a dodgy ‘domino’ fashion. At one point I just stood there, pissed myself laughing and hoped some granny would just run over me with her wheeled machine.

Everything kept going wrong. Everything! One after the other. I couldn’t wait to get home and just be with the kids. I mean almost got beat up my some strange, feisty woman in a bar, who declared me a snotty ‘patronizing bitch.’ She wanted to gracefully, ‘rip my head off’ or something….and simply because she had lost her mind and insecurity had got the better of her. Delicious! I wouldn’t look good without a head. How inconvenient of her. After my boobs, it’s my best bit!  (We’re all girls. We’ve all been there. Some of us handle it better than others.) If you’re going to attempt to be a Goddess…Don’t be a crazy one. It makes you look stupid….really really stupid. It makes you NOT a Goddess. Not one at all. But in a way I was pleased, because in that moment, I couldn’t have LOOKED MORE sophisticated. I looked like I was dipped in champers and served on a silver tray. If you’re going to do FEISTY. Do  it with charm. Do it with a class that’s smug, yet direct. I assure you, the rough, ‘elbows, loud shouty, knees to the ears thing….is…Well….It’s HILARIOUSLY tasty in the most disgraceful manner.

Yipppeeeeeeee!

Anyway, once I got home and spent loads of time with the babies and just focused on doing the things that I love…I slept well and bizarrely, when I woke, I felt okay. I felt delicious.

I spent my busy Monday surrounded by my chick friends, who are just GREAT. I mean, yeah they definitely pissed themselves at me nearly getting beaten up and then shared their own stories of weekend debauchery….trampolines, gin, Leeds games, birthdays, forgotten loin fruit, and vaginas that look like pork pies that may come with a gelatine layer on them. (That was actually a comment that ‘Double B’ made a week ago… about imaginary ‘pork pie’ vaginas. Lol. I forgot to mention it, so I shoved it in for kicks. I love her.)

Double B: ‘Honestly, I think her vagina is a pork pie and comes with a gelatine layer.’

And today was just ‘GOOD NEWS’ Tuesday! I mean, I was bright as a button. Beaming with ‘ooh laa.’ I had something in the back of my mind. I can’t really tell you what, but I guess like all girls, I really care for someone and I don’t…Well….blah. I’ll leave it at that.) I didn’t let it get to me. I glamour pussed onward with a smile.

Now, the great thing about my weekend was that I CHOSE to be really PRODUCTIVE. So I pulled myself together, and didn’t surrender to ‘da blues’ and instead set myself up for opportunity. Work opportunity. I told you, I’m writing a book, I’ve got a bunch of auditions and shoots etc…But at the weekend, I tried hard to turn dreams into reality….

…because of that ‘GOOD NEWS TUESDAY’ OCCURED.

You can do anything. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t. Good things happen to good people.

I got a phone call today…a good one. It was work related and it shocked me so much that I couldn’t even believe it. It made me squeak. I haven’t squeaked since August! I looked at ‘Firmonnell’ and literally squeaked with excitement at her. I’m at my best when i’m that happy!!! I get on such a buzz that I feel on top of the world. And it felt good because it was something that I really wanted and really went for. I found my inner fearless and well I just knew… It made me giddy!

From that point on, I was A QUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!  And again the weird thing was, that when i felt SO WONDERFUL, just filled with excitement and kitty cat beams…ALL THINGS GREAT STARTED TO HAPPEN TO ME, one after the other! It was crazy. I could’ve tripped up and FOUND a pot of treasure at my feet, I felt that lucky. All sorts happened. More opportunity. More great phone calls. Good news. My best gay friend Theo in LA randomly messaged me to tell me he was sending me a surprise gift! I received a ton of really positive messages from blog fans and more and more good news kept pouring in. I booked shoots and jobs and everything. It just made my day wonderful!

This was one of the messages I got today from a Blog Fan…

‘Hey Chrissie, just to remind you this morning; you’re powerful beyond measure. So be that girl who wakes up with a purpose and intent, who shows up and never gives up, who believes anything is possible and willing to work for it. I hope this week will be ridiculously amazing just like you. I’m so inspired by you. Thank you.’

How lovely is that!!! Makes me smile! It means a lot.

Everything is changing. I’m headed into a really lovely and super exciting chapter. It’s all new and spangly and I…well i’m looking forward to it.

(Do know that when i’m trying to be wonderful, my delightful chick friends are currently Whatsapp grouping me and calling me ‘shit’ because I apparently can’t remember birthdays…and that’s some kind of duty of mine. I hope ‘Hustle Barbie’s hair goes wrong on Thursday. I told her it was her next big prank. 😉 )

Hustle Barbie: ‘Don’t fucking say that to me! I’m already anxious!’

Anyway, I’m off. I have a bath ready and it needs me. I spent all night Googling this season’s ‘Jimmy Choo’ shoe line yesterday. It’s exhausted me with utter pleasure. 😉

I hope you’re all feeling lucky. Work hard at what you love. Chase what makes you happy. Don’t give up. Love boldly. It’s the most powerful force in the entire world and go get whatever is YOURS! You deserve it!

We Should ALL Send More Flowers

I’m shattered! It’s a good shattered. But oh my pansies, I need a trip to the forest, to chill in a champagne twinkled hot tub, away from ‘the bustle’ of ‘all sorts‘ where I can just work quietly and do the things that I love, without drowning in my OWN freshly created work load. Lol. Becareful what you wish for, as you just might get it dolls! 😉 I just need peace and what could be better than the ‘hidden away in a the calming depths of the forest’ effect ..AWW! That would be BLISS.

I’m doing well. I’m doing really well. Yet, my mind is really busy. I’m almost doing too much for me to handle by myself now. Part of me thinks that I can’t juggle it, but my drive just tells me that I can…and I end up doing it anyhow. But gosh, THANK GOD FOR GIN AND COCKTAILS….I love you like I love Jimmy Choos, Diamonds and Sausage Sandwiches. 😉

I’m in a giant work swirl. It’s madness and on overload. I told you i’m shattered. But i’m a really lucky girl, as I have brands campaigns, collabos, marketeers. agents and all sorts flying in with opportunities galore right now. Well I always say I’m ‘lucky’ because i’m grateful for any person, who sits in their office and just has a…

‘Hey, that Chrissie Wunna, she’s amazing, let’s work with her,’ moment.

Yet if i’m being honest, i’ve worked my kitten SOCKS OFF for those moments to occur…I’ve been up since five o clock this morning, I’ve worked all day and i’ll be up until the early hours still smashing out press releases, potential business proposals, whilst replying to all that is incoming. (Thank you for all the incoming opportunities. I honestly appreciate it madly.)

Do know that all this is at the same time as being ‘Mum.’ I LOVE BEING MUM and I make sure that I have those simple moments every day, where in which I can keep grounded and still be in touch with life. The people who get lost in the work swirl, lose their soul. They forget their purpose and you can see it in their work, their manners, their blogs, vlogs and all sorts. You can see it in their eyes, their smile, their mind.

I’m lucky because i’m surrounded by great people every day who keep my glittery soul alive, BUT REAL. Lol. There’s no ‘pampering of the star’ as I like to call it in Wunna land. Hahah! I mean for fucks sake ‘Take Me Out Nick,’ (he’s pretty much one of my besties, even though he keeps offering me imaginary cups of tea, maybe his body and can’t be home when he tells me to pop over,) certainly referred to me as a ‘gimp’ today…and I’m definitely sure that ‘Double B’ told me to ‘fuck off’ just because I looked at her. 🙂

Yet at the same time, other humans (who are just as ace) called me things like ‘beautiful’ and ‘thoughtful’ which again reminds me that I’m not an absolute buffoon after all. 😉  I sent a girl (well it was Katie at Social Chain) flowers the other day, to thank her for being so lovely to me..and she received them yesterday, on International Women’s Day, with a message that read,

‘It’s the smallest things that make a girl smile” Thank you for having me. Love you, Chrissie x  www.chrissiewunna.com’

And I didn’t do the standard ‘call the flower shop, at the last minute’ bouquet thing. (Even though I love that too 🙂 because it’s the easiest way to get yourself out of trouble in an emergency. Are you listening boys???)  I went with my favourite flower delivery service ‘Bloom & Wild’ and because nothing is more delightful to me than hand picked, fresh cut flowers, that are specifically chosen for the person in question, boxed up and presented beautifully with grace, love and thoughtfulness. To me, it is the most simple, yet elegant way to say ‘Thank you’ and I personally think that MORE girls should be delivered surprise flowers. People don’t seem send flowers enough these days, do they? I want to see more of it in 2017.

I love great people and I love brands and ideas that are ‘old school’ with a champagne misted twisted of modern… I share them an awful lot with others. Pretty much because brands of that sort represent who I am.

Anyway…

I really wanted Katie to be sat at her desk, at work in Manchester and to ‘out of the blue’ recieve a surprise box that contained my fresh cut flower choices, for her and not just to say ‘thank you’ but to also make her smile at the same time…That’s what Girl Power is about.

She Tweeted me earlier this afternoon to thank me and as I read the Tweet out to ‘Hot Sarah’ (whilst complaining because someone had dropped cookies all around me) it genuinely made me happy just knowing that I made her smile. Even for just five seconds, she would’ve have cut away from her own version of work day ‘bustle’ to simply feel a moment of extra appreciation. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

More people should send people flowers. It’s lovely.

Right, it’s 10.30pm and I have what feels like a 100 emails to send out before I can actually get some shut eye. So I’m pouring a gin and tonic and getting on with it.

I forgot to tell you that ‘London Business Man’ (who I whatsapp weekly, we’re good friends now) had a car crash and ended up in hospital. He lost control of his car on the M1 and crashed into everything, as his car swirled around and smashed his head into windows. I’m in SHOCK. I can’t believe that happened!!! Yet he’s on the mend. I should send him rum.

‘Eton Mess’ (who is lovely, but I haven’t chatted to him in months) has found himself in The Maldives…He’s a natural adventurer and well one minute he was in Manchester, coming out of a stressful time romantically and the next minute he was enjoying life the way he always wanted to, swinging from palm trees and bathing in the sun.

You never know where life is going to take you….but enjoy it! I always always say …that I never know exactly what’s going to happen to me…All I do know is that it’s something wonderful.
