Went back to work today and it was actually really great. Yeah, I missed life as a Mummy, girlfriend and Ultimate Lady of leisure.
*Wink-Pout.* Yet there’s something about my place of work that you kinda miss when you no longer venture through those glass doors at 10am. We’re like one big happy dysfunctional family and when i strutted in there today, for the first time without my *bump* and saw all those family faces, decorated with screeches of ‘OMG. I can’t believe you’re back!’ I felt weirdly all warm and fuzzy inside. I looked around and saw Bex, Claire, Lucy, Stuart, Karan, Lisa and the same old *buzz* yet with a whole new load of newly placed drama and thought …’yeah…i’ve weirdly missed being here.‘ (I’ve only been gone 3 weeks and sooo much has changed. I was warmly welcomed back and loved catching up on all their drunken stories of ‘ooh’ and being filled in on the new happenings going on in their lives.)
Now, for those of you thinking, ‘HOLY CRAP’ at the fact that I only had my bambino 2 weeks ago, yet I’m back at work (both day job and showbizzy) so soon. Know that i’m a kitty cat that bizarrely finds it easy to file the different areas of my life into seperate boxes. When i’m at home with Ruby…I’m ‘Mummy galore.’ When i’m at work, in the office…i’m all about business. I tend to never mix the two zones. That way everything gets my 100% attention and only an attention whore like moi, knows HOW to give something your 100% attention. I loved being at work and I loved catching up with everyone. Yet I will say that whenever Pete text me, or called me simply to tell me about how amazing our baby Ruby was being..I was immediately zoomed into a ‘zone‘ where my heart ACHED for my new little family. You do appreciate them more when you’re away from them because you get torn away from ‘auto pilot’ and dropped onto a fresh path of wonder. I’m home now and i can’t do anything but smooch Ruby to pieces. I do fancy a wine though and i’d very much please like my vagina to stop being *ouchie* from the stitches. Hurrah!
I’m continuing to feel sexy. I’m getting back into shape. I’m turing back into the ultimate glamour puss. My ‘Peaches’ interview has aired again tonight and my literary agent gave me on of those phone calls where they really want you to hurry up with the book. I love my lit.agent because she’s ever so encouraging and believes in me more than you could ever wish! Yet i’m sure i’m doing her head in. I have been slack, yet mainly out of fear! I just really want the book to do well. It’s terrifying and i’m fumbling.
However luckily, she has thrown me a lifeline and i’m going to get it fully formatted! THANKYOU LORD!!! I need a firecracker shot up my arse right now! My book could be bigtime! I can’t let the bubble fizzle down! I’ve got to get it done, get on every show, plug it and get it filed under ‘Best seller.’ She told me not to doubt my ability today and I don’t. I think i’ve just been through soo much in the last few months that i’ve confused myself. I have soo much going on right now, dolloped with a side of work load. I also think that the older I get, the more terrified i’m becoming? It’s because i’ve turned into a grown up over night. Children never fear anything. Well apart from monsters, sprouts and granny spit washes. I sang away to ‘Can’t speak French’ with a cuppa soup in the office today. I need to stop being idol and find the *shimmie* in me once more. (Ooh totally forgot that i’ve ordered a pair of slut specs! Can’t wait to pick them up!)
Ruby’s been on my knee the whole time i’ve typed this. I’ve ‘one handed typed’ the whole entire thing, as she’s looked up at me in utter ‘that’s my mummy’ awe! Pete took her out and about today to show her off to the masses. Apparently he couldn’t go anywhere without EVERYONE coming to give her an ‘ awww‘ or a cuddle. He loved it and dressed her in zebra! 🙂 We’re raising an ‘ IT’ baby. We know how to keep it ‘swagga.’
Other than all that, i was told stories of toilet stalls, punch ups, new houses, pitches of cocktails, finger nailed cocaine shots, drastic diets, met a new blond and really need to get some dinner now.
I adore you all and I’m sorry if this blog is a bit crubbish, i’m just knackered. It will get better. I’m sure the ‘Human Dynamo’ will kick in shortly. x (Pete’s having a steak on the sofa whilst making ‘eww’ faces at female body builders. He likes his women more ‘Kitty cat’…. with steak.)
